I am wading my way down my e-mail messages (in order) so please forgive me if
someone has already answered this.
In each User Profile, there is a parameter
Initial program to call . . . . INLPGM
We have a CL program that displays windows back to the requestor, which region
that they wish to choose, TEST, QA, PRODUCTION, MONTH-END
and depending upon there answer, an applicable DATA AREA is then opened. This
data area contains the list of libraries pertinent to that region. The
requestors library list is then built, usibg these parameters. Any problems,
for example, library does not exist, requestor is not authorized to library
etc, can then be captured, and the applicable message is displayed (within a
window) back to the requestor.
If there are no problems, a fina lwindow is displayed back to the requestor
stipulating that they had chosen whichever region.
Hopefully this may be helpful to you

I have been trying to find a way to send an error message back to
QDSIGNONXX.
What we are trying to accomplish is validity checking before a user is
allowed into an application's main menu called from the AS/400 user
profile's initial program.
If the AS/400 user profile is not in this application's 'operator' file,
then we'd want to send the user back to the AS/400 sign-on with an error
message explaining why they are back at the sign-on.
Loading QSNERROR didn't do much good and SNDXXXMSG looked too hokey.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Fran Denoncourt
