  • Subject: Re: CPYTOIMPF, CPYTOSTMF - create fixed length records with comma for EOR?

This actually needs to be very automated.  I have end users who will be hitting
a customers web site and will be transferring this data as a file upload to the
customer's machine.  I want to automatically place this data in the IFS for our
customers to access.  Currently FTP is out of the question.

1.)  Am I correct in believing that this request is a little bit weird?  Fixed
length as well as comma delimiting for EOR.

2.)  I am looking at just placing the commas into the UDB file.  I was just
wondering if any of the CPYTO (PCD, STMF, IMPF) would do this.

Thanks for your input.

how automated does this need to be? Client Access will
transfer a file to pc in a fixed length format. Also, since
cpytoimpf works well for comma delimited, you can use it,
then a pc pgm to convert to fixed length. I use a shareware
pc product from Bruce Guthrie, originally written for
Dept of Commerce. http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/2414
Also, you might just output a db400 file, with the commas,  and ftp it?
