I would almost do the same thing, but instead of using a trigger, use the ftp quote command and use the rcmd to run a remote command...
just a thought....

One way is to FTP a short file with the name of the procedure to the AS/400.
Then have a trigger on the the file, read it when it triggers, and execute
the
procedure.
