It is just that Joe and others seem to equate Java with good design (even using "counter-intuitive" stuff) and RPG with bad design. Now there certainly are many more badly designed RPG programs our there than badly designed Java programs, as program maintainers we all have our horror stories to tell, but that is just because RPG has been around a lot longer than Java.
