Hi Emanuele...and others, Yes, there is a way. Set the QAUTOVRT system value to 0 (zero). This will stop the proliferation of devices. (Sometimes you may want this on though!!) Create enough QPADEV* devices to cater for your needs, then sessions connecting will pick up one of the virtual devices. Cater for the different display sizes, i.e. 24x80 and 27x132 by automatically creating one of each and then copying the descriptions. I have also customised our devices by changing the naming convention of our virtual devices so that we do not use the QPADEV* naming convention. I also set QAUTOCFG & QAUTORMT to 0 (zero) as well. Hope this is of help to you, Tim Shepherd Fraser Alexander Limited Boksburg South Africa > -----Original Message----- > From: Emanuele Salvador > Sent: Monday, March 19, 2001 11:49 AM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: QPADEV proliferation > > Hi, > is there a way to stop QPADEV proliferation, assigning a fixed > session name to a device connecting thru telnet to AS/400? > The ip addresses from where the requests come are fixed, not assigned by > DHCP. > > Thanks, > Emanuele Salvador > -- > +--- > | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! > | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. > | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. > | To unsubscribe from this list send email to > MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. > | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: > david@midrange.com > +--- > > --------------------------------------------------------- "The content of this e-mail message and all attachments thereto ("this message") does not necessarily reflect the views of Fraser Alexander Group of Companies (FAGC).
