I have programs that can FTP a Palm database to/from an AS/400
and (just as important) convert these databases to/from AS/400
physical files in the QSYS environment.

The problem here is that a Palm database is not just a file.
In fact the Palm doesn't have files, but (like the AS/400) only
objects! So, a Palm database object is a convoluted binary
structure just like an AS/400 file object.
