Mark,

After reading what you are looking for, I don't think that really exists in
TCP/IP. For this sort of thing, Mandy might be correct. I misunderstood
the context of Mandy's original statement.

What I mean is, is their an appropriate protocol-application "solution" at
all that allows these 3 things to occur at the same time, the firewall is
part of the picture, but alterations can't be considered as part of the
solution. I think this is typical, by the way, or will be as more as/400
users come on line.

1) Allows a remote site to keep their firewall set in accordance with "any
standard imposed" - such as nobody enters, anyone can go out.

2) Allows this same remote system to start a magical session to YOUR system,
which is wide open for access.

3) Now, on your system this remote user can do their work

4) Now, you can use their "magical session" to bypass any normal firewall
limitations, because you are effectively within their session.

Think of "dialup-over-internet" and you have it! We lost something when we
dropped the copper out of the connection?

The remote user can go back and forth between systems at will, originating
within the firewall.
If You, outside of the firewall try to go to their system, you will be
blocked. So, tell me how to share the authorized connection? I don't think
APPC will work in this fashion, by the book, I am guessing that *ANS (ANSWER
ONLY) option is what is need on the unauthorized controller. But, while
guessing poorly, I am hoping their is a documented way to do this, not
necessarily using APPC.
