I would be careful with that idea. For example if you have a document in OV/400 which does an 'include' instruction will that translate from/to Word? If you have a document which does data/text merge will that translate from/to Word? If you have a document which contains help tags will that translate from/to Word. Having recently transferred some documents from my favorite word processor into Word I can vouch for the many problems with 'include' instructions. Word's concept of a master document is cludgy and not very WYSIWYG. Rob Berendt ================== Remember the Cole! You have been able to access documents in QDLS for a number of years. You need a "FULL" install of Word and in that install, a translator is put in Word that enables it to bring the document into Word. The translator can also be loaded from the MS site. The trick was that if the document was not created with Word,(like OV/400), a number of "special" functions like bold, underscore, etc, etc didn't come across correctly. If it was created by Word, No sweat..... > I have heard on the grapevine that there is an MS-Word 'extension' > that will enable it to edit OS/400 documents directly in the QDLS folder. > Has anyone else heard this, and perhaps pass on any details ? > +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
