PRTAFPDTA idea works just great. Now about my experience with the fonts....I tried using the AFP tool box functions with 240 pel fonts which come as a package with AFP(I guess) and it did not work. These 240 Pel fonts worked fine in conjuction with DDS or APU but not with AFP toolbox which is mysterious. The manual insists you need the AFP Font collection package to use Toolbox functions which we ordered finally and everything seems to be working great. For some reason I'm still having trouble with shanding and coloring. I'll let you know once I get it to work. thanks again.
