This sounds exactly like a problem Dave Leland was helping me out with.
How did the ASCII text file get on the 400? We were creating our files
with CPYTOIMPF and had to get a ptf and use the parameter STMFCODPAG
(*PCASCII) in order to stop the problem. And yes I could view the file
either way with the DSPF command. And op's nav worked, but SNDEMAIL didn't
until I used the STMFCODPAG command.

When I copy an ASCII text file from the AS/400 through Ops Nav, it
transfers fine (I think I had to set it up to do so by the file
extension). But when I try to transfer the file by mapping a drive, it
comes down in what seems to be EBCDIC. Is there a way to fix this?
