<laughing> Tried that, too. My SSAP is the same as yours, except that I have SSAP 12 instead of 06. From my reading of the help text, it's the SSAP for channel AA that's required for TCP/IP. My ETHSTD is *ALL. I notice that the ARP packet I am sending out is 802.3; I wonder if I change to *ETHV2 what would happen? Hmmm. (I just looked at my line description, but the CHGETHLIN command doesn't seem to let me change the ETHSTD parameter). P.S. I tried switching my address to 172.198.1.1 and then pinging out - still no joy. Whenever I attempt to ping an address outside my subnet, I get no activity on the net other than that darned 802.3 TEST packet. > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com > [mailto:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Neil Palmer > Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2001 5:45 PM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: RE: Grumble... > > > As long as you're trying everything else ! :-) > > DSPLIND of your Ethernet line. > > What's your setting for ETHSTD ? > What SSAP's do you have listed ? > (should be similar, not necessarily the same, as this): > ----Source Service Access Points----- > SSAP Maximum Frame Type > 04 1496 *SNA > 06 1496 *NONSNA > AA 1480 *NONSNA > C8 1496 *HPR > You may have additional SSAP's, Max Frame may be 1496 for all. > > ...Neil > > > > > > "Joe Pluta" <joepluta@plutabrothers.com> > Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com > 2001/02/28 14:31 > Please respond to MIDRANGE-L > > > To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> > cc: > Subject: RE: Grumble... > > > And of course, off the top of my head I screwed it up <grin>.
