Michael, The FTP client and server that come with OS/400 do not use SSL or data encryption. As you have seen from the replies, there are solutions available from various vendors. Our company offers a product called CONNECT:Enterprise Internet Data Exchange which supports several options for doing secure data exchange over the internet, including FTP.
