Just a quick followup and thank you to all those who've offered suggestions. As you know, I was up until the wee hours with this one, and there have been no good answers, but a couple of nice people have offered to help. I'm leaving this one be tonight so I can get some rest, but I promise I'll be playing with it tomorrow. Just for giggles, I tried adding a *DFTROUTE specifying the realworld address of my router. CFGTCP wouldn't let me do that because it wasn't in my subnet. So I got sneaky, and added another TCP interface, identifying my AS/400 as 216.36.82.1, with a mask of 255.255.255.0. I added the *DFTROUTE, and then tried to ping the router's realworld address. I got a message saying no route, so I started the interface. No luck. Checked my sniffer, and again no traffic on the net. The AS/400 simply refuses to send out any data for anything outside of it's subnet. Period. This is getting yucky. I'll try again tomorrow.
