  • Subject: PCL printing through RALLY

Though this is a very isolated type of problem, I thought that the list
gurus would
be able to shed light on this problem, or point to where and how to trouble
shot
this issue.

We have a client using our forms package on a RISC machine. Forms print
normally
through network connected printers. In contrast to this normal mode of
printing,
the client is using an HP4050 color printer connected to a workstation, and
using
Rally (emulation software) to create a virtual print session. The printer
then generates
distorted reports. The makers of Rally have been uncooperative. Also, SCS
spool
files print correctly through this virtual printer session.

On along the same lines we also have a client who gets duplicate printing on
some
print jobs. In these cases, simply maxing out the printer time out, and
turning
off the power save feature on the print session resolves this issue (But
might tip the
utility scales for California rolling black outs).

Thanks in advance for your insights.

Regards,
Erick
