Pete, they don't use TCP/IP, it works fine when the profile is with the other group profile. The reason we switch group profiles is for object access.

This doesn't sound like anything to do with a Group profile. How are you attached? If TCP/IP can you ping it? Have you brought down the host servers, and not brought them back up?
