I am looking for a technique to get the network (Novell) UID of the a signing onto an AS/400. My shop uses DHCP to assign IP addreses, so knowing the IP address alone does me little good. I have written some sockets code that I know I could use, but this would require that I install the "client" piece on all PCs and start it as a service under the covers (yes, this is for a security check). I was hoping that there might be another means to do this that might be a little less involved. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
