Hi Larry, I would tend to create a DDMF link to the remote file, then use CPYF to retrieve the data, using INCCHAR, INCREL, FROMRCD-TORCD or FROMKEY-TOKEY to pre-select the dataset if the remote file is large, then run query over the retrieved data. Query will not allow you to specify a DDMF as one of the input files. This could all be wrapped up and simplified in a CL program if it is a regular report/extract. Kind regards, Jeff Bull.
