Exactly how do you intend for the software to assist? 
Are you going to use it for order entry, purchasing,
invoicing, etc..  What about the scheduling of the
parties?  It sounds to me like you should be looking a
basic ERP package.  I have worked with American
Software (www.amsoftware.com) and Daly dot Commerce'
Aplus package.  Both are very functional.  American
software is written in COBOL and APLUS is an RPG app.
What it really comes down to is dollars and sense.
