Yep.  As you said, found a lot on how to make pdfs, but not how to use them
in a batch job...

Well, the best solution has been removed by IBM, cause
this is an excellent problem that OV/400 can do while
standing on it's head....(I have done what you want using OV/400).

There's a number of folks that have developed some tools
that go from spool to pdf, so it makes sense that somebody
has a program that will print a pdf stored on the 400....

Root around in the archives of this list and I believe you
will find a lot of references to PDF file conversion...

I assume you have also looked at News/400 and Midrange Magazine ???
