Well, actually you CAN do file shares and printer shares from a green
screen if you cant to call the API's and pass the nice long string to it.
QZLSADFS and QZLADPS add file and printer shares. QZLSCHFS & QZLSCHPS
change them. QZLSRMS removes shares...

Easy Dan, using NetServer on your 400, you can install Client Access
directly from the 400 without the CD.
Catch 22 ! ;-)

Yes, you need OpsNav, so install CA Express from the Client Access Family
for Windows CD, or if you have some CA installed but not Ops Nav run IBM
Client Access Express/Selective Setup.

You can actually configure basic NetServer, including a guest profile (but
not file shares), without OpsNav - from a green screen.
Read informational APAR's II11239 & II11240 (SNDPTFORD II11239 ...etc. -
or read online).
To start & end manually, on V4R4 (maybe V4R3) and higher, just use
STRTCPSVR *NETSVR or ENDTCPSVR *NETSVR.
You can set the Autostart option by using UPDDTA QATOCSTART (file is in
QUSRSYS) and change Autostart (use capital *NO or *YES).

So I need Operations Navigator to configure Netserver? How do I install
Ops
Nav? I.e., is there a CD-ROM? Is it on the CA disk? What if you don't
order
CA for your system? Will you still get the CD-ROM?
