hmm... couple of clarifications about my situation. If I ping using a name or the direct IP the same thing occurs. No other systems (NT, linux, 98, 95) experience this problem. I doubt that it is a time-out issue since the problem occurs with our local internet router. A successful ping will return in 3 to 4 ms typically. Pinging external internet addresses yield times of 100 to 180 ms. Both will fail on pings # 2 & 4 > Chris Bipes wrote: > > Sounds like you are handing out multiple IPs for your system.
