My experience with Datamax printers has been with the "prodigy" line. I don't know if the 4206 is the same or not... The Prodigy printers use their own language, and are not compatable with host print transform. We have them attached through I-O 4440S devices made by I-O Corporation. We use TL Ashford's "Barcode/400" software to generate the labels. I've done some programming where I send codes to the printers directly, as well... but I'm pretty sure they don't work with Host Print Transform. Its possible that they'd do plain text, tho... havent tried that.
