Angie, Your syntax for the tofile looks correct. Is it an externally described file? CPYFRMSTMF and CPYTOSTMF does not support these. To get around this, create a flat file with the same record length as the database file (CRTPF with RCDLEN(___) and no DDS). Copy the stream file to the flat file. Then copy the flat file to the externally described database file by specifying FMTOPT(*NOCHK) on CPYF. You can also use a source file for your flat file. Just specify FMTOPT(*CVTSRC) on the CPYF command. It keeps giving me an error on the DB2 file. If I try just specifying the library/name it says it must be a QSYS file. So if I specify QSYS.LIB/MYLIB.LIB/MYFILE.FILE/MYMBR.MBR it gives me an error that the file attributes are not supported (that an external file or source file with more that 3 fields are not supported??) I looked this up in the cl reference help and the syntax for the qsys.lib..... seems okay. What syntax are they asking for? Angie Wawrzaszek M.I.S. Department
