Well, the S/38 - AS/400 has apparently consistently rated highest in IBM's customer satisfaction surveys. So the brain trust in Somers figures, "Hey, they're happy - no need to spend money on them". If you are satisfied you get taken for granted. Customers are not so happy with Mainframe, NT & Unix boxes, so the "squeaky wheel gets the oil" theory comes into play. What if, next time IBM did a customer sat survey (if they still do them) everyone was to say they were completely and utterly disgusted with the 400 and though it was about time IBM fixed the problems. And when they call back to ask what problems you are having with the 400, tell them "IBM marketing". :-) ...Neil "M.
