Absolutely.  There are lots of tools.  You just have to figure out what activity
it is that you want to monitor.

(Hint: what get's measured, get's done.  If you monitor for line activity, lot's
of files will be passed across the line.  If you monitor for CPU utiliation,
expect big CPU intensive programs to be produced by the programmers.  If you
measure lines of code, expect long complicated programs.  Be careful what you
measure)
