Dan: This is deja vu all over again. I have not had to do this in a LONG time, however I do remember doing it. You use a full screen 3270 emulator when you dial Advantis. You can dial Advantis via a SNA over Async number to a TN3270 number. I don't remember any stability issues, but the keyboard map can be a bit of a pain. Once you connet to the AS400, you can do a DSPKBDMAP command to look at how the F keys are mapped. HTH, cjg Carl J. The most likely option I'm going to have to be able to do this is to dial up into Advantis and login to our AS/400 from there. One of my colleagues has described his experience with this as extrememly unreliable in terms of his ability to stay connected; he says it's not his end of the connection that's failing because his other modem connections work just fine. Establishing and re-establishing a connection can be very time consuming. And the keyboard mapping apparently uses a mainframe-like setup. Does anybody have suggestions to improve my working environment within the constraints of Advantis? Especially with the keyboard mapping, which I understand is a real nightmare. Please no suggestions of "forget Advantis, use..."; there is a solution that will be implemented sometime early next year, but I need access now.
