This does not look to me like it is an IBM operating system function.

It looks to me like it is software that someone wrote, perhaps part of an ERP 
package, then tested to make sure it was working satisfactorily for your 
company.  You need to talk with your company's software testing & end user 
application education department to learn either why the software is not 
working the way you think it should, or how to get it to do what you need.

Did you check the help (F1) to see what values are valid?
