We handle backup and restore issuse created by having logicals in separate
libraries by having a CL that destroys the logicals and another that
recreates them. The idea of the separate library is to keep the user out of
the library where the physical file is actually located.

I would recommend you keep the logicals in the same library as the physical
files. Otherwise you'll have backup and restore issues to deal with.

I love the idea of the logicals. I also appreciate everyone's input on this.
It makes sense to create these logicals, and perhaps segment them in a
separate library so that the ODBC connection only has to search one library
list.

Thanks to all!
