Doing the internet with an AS/400

Here's another one for your list David. Good article

<The company attributes this reliability to the superb performance of the
AS/400 midrange system, as well as to its speed and reliability.>

<SNIP
StoreReport.com runs on an IBM AS/400e Model 720, 'midrange' class
computer.
The computer and operating system software represent an investment of over
$100,000. Clients access the system over common PC's using their local
Internet Service Providers (ISP's) and web browsers like Internet Explorer
and Netscape Communicator. The database management system being employed is
IBM's DB2 running over the OS/400 operating system. The interface being
used
to deliver the accounting and inventory applications is IBM Secureway Host
on
Demand, which includes choices for GUI, 3270, 5250, VT, CICS Gateway, 3270
printer and a 5250 printer emulation session. The interface that has been
the
most popular is 5250 terminal emulation, mainly because of its speed of
delivery and ease of operation.
