<<BTW, if you're at all familiar with HTML, I'd recommend skipping Net.Data
and just using CGI programs -- you get more flexiblity, both on the
back-end data side and on the front-end presentation to the browser side,
and in my experience they also run a lot faster. The only advantage of
Net.Data is it's pretty fast to set up. . .>>

Net.Data certainly isn't the fastest executing stuff, but it's pretty nice
if you're COMPLETELY new to the 400, but experienced with server-side
scripting languages like ASP (like I was about 6 months ago) and know a
little SQL. Properly used, it's one more nice tool to have in your AS/400
web toolbox. I hate to see people run it down, because I'd like to see IBM
put some more resources into it and really make it nice (and faster
executing!).

Lots of "web guys" who don't know a thing about the 400 won't even consider
one as a webserver because they think there's no scripting language for it.
They'd rather use Linux/Apache/PHP or NT/IIS/ASP. When I tell them that
yes, the 400 has a very nice webserver BUILT RIGHT IN and a pretty good
(not great, but decent) scripting language BUILT RIGHT IN, they're all
astonished.

But boy, RPG CGI programs truly are fast, fast, fast.
