I do know within a new LIBRARY (maybe the directory works the same way) there
is a parameter AUT (see the command CRTLIB). This will allocate the
authorization for ANY objects created within the library. If this is not
correctly set up, some weird and wonderful things seem to happen. Your scenario
has happened to me. Libraries have been created where a user is the owner, with
*ALL authority on the library, but the objects being created within the
Library, the user was excluded from. The culprit was the AUT parameter within
the CRTLIB command. (NOTE - we also use authorization lists.

Hi

I'm using authorization list to secure the
directory.

Does anyone know why when a user creates a
new folder or file in a directory he
has all authorities to, he doesn't have
all authorities to the object he just
created?

Thanx, Patrick
