For transaction entry, the green screen wins easily, however it must surely be a primary aim to automate these functions as much as possible. The best of both worlds is telnet on Windows. You get the performance & low maintenance of green screen, and the ability to cut and paste. Add a little extra funtion -eg ftp access to AS400 spool files, and the users can use the rich Windows toolset for manipulating and analysing data. For sophisticated reporting, a full GUI tool like CORVU also has its place, but there is a fairly high overhead.
