Chuck, We wrote our own ad-hoc CL program to ping remote systems on a time interval and then alert the AS/400 system folks if a system failed n ping attempts after nn minutes. The program would send a simple SMTP e-mail to a internet address using the AS/400 SNDDST (send distribution) command upon ping failure. This e-mail address would then link to a distribution list on our mail server. Works great. James A.
