I did have a similar problem, it ws related to the extra tray (# 3).  As soon 
as I removed the tray, we didn't have to press the go button every time.  Since 
I don't use FormPrint, I don't know if your problem is related with my 
experience.

All,     We have just purchase some of these printer and they are attach to
the AS/400 Model 310, but we have one problem with them, we are using
FormPrint and every time  we send a form to the printer  from FormPrint we
have to press the go button every time.  As anyone out there using these
type of printer and having the same problem??????
