Buck/Leif, >Not a guru, but I have The Book (IBM 5250 Information Display System >Functions Reference Manual SA21-9247-06 Mar 1987) That book was obseleted by new additions to the 5250 data streams, such as used by the so-called enhanced WS controller. The data streams are now documented in the 5494 Control Unit Functions Reference Manual, SC30-3533-04, which is both in the softcopy library and available online. The chapter on display data streams is at: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/bookmgr.cmd/BOOKS/CO2E2001/15.0 BTW, even when you know the data streams fairly well, this type of thing is much faster to analyze by using Gene Gaunt's excellent utililty TRC5250 published by MC in June 2000 or so. It not only captures the 5250 data streams for a session, it parses them and creates a spooled file labeling each data stream order. VERY slick. It definately puts Gene in the guru category (as do many of his other works).
