It's half true. They don't release all temporary storage immediately, they
release some right away and leave some around as a kind of cache. There
have been PTFs for both products but I don't recall one that is specifically
about a memory leak. I am pretty comfortable with ODBC workspaces - an ODBC
server job QZDASOINIT can get very large but that is by design.

-|Subject: Query/400 using temp storage?
-|
-|
-|I heard someone claim that after Query/400 runs, it doesn't release temp.
-|storage. As anyone heard of this? We recently discussed how
-|Client Access
-|transfers and ODBC wasn't releasing temp. storage and a PTF would
-|fix that.
-|This doesn't sound right to me, since it has been around so long, I can't
-|imagine that would be an ongoing problem.
-|
-|The more I know, the more I realize I have to learn... so on
-|something like
-|this, I hate to say they are wrong without doing some research.
