Neil, Thanks for your reply, but that parm is only for the AS/400 FTP server, it does not affect the client. CHGFTPA only affects the AS/400 FTP server configuration. Thanks again, Tom Kennedy neilp@dpslink.com@midrange.com on 09/28/2000 01:38:20 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: FTP Client Problem. We have a process that is using the AS/400 FTP client to put a file on a unix server over a VPN. Every once in a while the connection is broken between the server and the client. When this happens the AS/400 FTP client hangs for 600 seconds.... there does not seem to be a way to modify that 600 second value. This only happens with AS/400 FTP client.... I tried countless others and each one allows you to set the time-out value at the client level. On the AS/400 FTP Server you can reset the transfer and inactivity values with the quote time XXX XXX command, but this does not help with the AS/400 FTP client. My question is --> Is there a equivalent command for the AS/400 FTP client? or some other way to change the 600 second value? Any help would be appreciated.
