Just to add to the conversation: for sending files to a UNIX system you can
convert the file to ASCII on the AS/400 and then send the file in binary
mode. Our software does this for you automatically, but I think you could
do
this yourself if you used the data translation functions in QDCXATE and put
the LFs where you need them. Most UNIX systems also have a DOS file utility
that can convert CR/LF sequences to LF which UNIX likes better.
