Hello,

Host System: Model 620 at V4R4M0 with Cum 147. Frame Relay to Perle
494E. Twinax to printers.

I recently tried changing the DEVD on a 4224-X02 to AFP(*YES). When
the first spool file released the writer job went to 95+ percent and
nothing EVER printed. The same spool file printed on a 4224-01 that
has been AFP(*YES) since the System 38. All I could find in the
Softcopy and Infocenter is that any 4224 model 100 could print AFPDS.
Is the X02 an odd ball model that the AS/400 doesn't handle?

Second, I thought that they data stream from the AS400 had been
enhanced several years ago so that when doing IPDS & AFPDS the form
length would be set on the fly rather than on the printer's front
panel. However when I tried sending some new forms to the 4224-01 it
continued to do page ejects (spool file & front panel) based on the
front panel setting (ALT+TEST to 302, ALT+4). Was I dreaming this?

Thanks.

See you at Common.
