Barb, I started this thread. Now that I have seen all these great replies, can you tell me how it is that we can monitor for a message using QCMDEXEC. That was really where I was trying to go with using some other way of executing a command. No, it starts out blank, but then it's only updated when an error occurs, so it should only be checked after you determine that an error occurred (%error?). The PSDS also contains the first 80 bytes of the message causing the error in positions 91 - 170.
