For user initiated interactive sessions via Telnet, you can use the Telnet exit programs to allow a connection, set the program to run adopt authority, etc. based on IP address. If it's a kiosk application, you can acquire the device from a batch program on the AS/400. It's been a while on that one. Look up acquire in the DDS manual. The /400 servers support a guest profile, but I haven't tried that.
