Try using date('2000-10-26') in place of '10/26/2000'. You should be able 
to use date('10/26/2000') too, if your SQL date format is set to *USA, or 
even date('10/26/00') if you use *MDY. The date command will cast the 
literal to a date data type, and it's pretty good at figuring out how to 
coerce whatever you give it into a date. I always use *ISO format, but I 
just tried the *YMD and *USA syntax in ISQL, and all three worked without 
changing anything. I suspect that in a procedure the behavior may not be as 
forgiving, but I haven't tried it.
