RPG with /EXEC - yes.
CL - no, but you could use OPNQRYF (Open Query File) CL does not have a
pre-processor for SQL.
Performance - yes, better with SETLL and CHAIN.
(still in most cases, although I call it a wash, significantly less
programming effort with SQL)
