>Anyway, I summarized, and there are a couple other gotchas >associated with using frames I guess I'll share one "gotcha" that affected me and a team I worked with. The site was hosted on a Win NT box. The webmaster used a "top" frame for a header, "left" frame for site navigation, and a "content" frame for the majority of information presented. I wrote an AS/400 based CGI program that delivered dynamic content to the "content" frame. This was part of a web based hotel reservation application which eventually prompted the user for a credit card number. Although the content frame was delivered via an HTTPS (secure) connection on the AS/400, the little security icon that shows up in the browser was not activated because the left and top frames were previously sent via a non-secure connection with IIS on the NT box. Several customers expressed their concern about putting in a credit card number on a form where the browser security icon was not activated. They were led to believe the connection was not secure. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
