Subject: FTP append from PC file to AS/400 file

Hi all, looking for some insight from the FTP gurus out there.

I have looked through the ftp "commands" in the ftp help screen of the
AS/400, red books, and associated AS/400 manuals, and even the archive for
this list only talked about the opposite of what I am attempting to do, but
I cannot find a way to do the following:

Run a ftp automatically on the AS/400, it gets the file from an NT server,
and add records to a file on the AS/400;

the append "command" only works to add records to the PC file;

Am I missing a "command", formatting my append wrong, missing a parm on the
GET or is this just not possible....

I could if I had to, run the ftp with the common "(replace" to a different
file, and then
in the C/L do a cpyf *add, but this solution is not the cleanest either; as
the file
could still be there because of other errors.

Any ideas, or will I be stuck relying upon users to notify me (ya-right)
when a program ab-ends.

TIA
