With regard to the IVR system...I've implemented a 8-line IVR system, with very heavy usage on a 486 running Unix, and not even a very "big" 486 at that. It "talked" to a regular old '400 terminal, filling in a regular display file, same as a user sitting there entering the info, using some flavor of 5250 emulation. It's been several years, so I don't remember the particulars...but I've got notes and code around here somewhere. To run this native on the 400 may be CPU intensive, but this one was a piece of cake, acted like one user at an entry screen....except that the "language" used to program it was really weird, simple, just very different. And, for all practical purposes, it was running on the AS400. -- William A.(Tony) Corbett corbett@asresources.com http://www.asresources.com http://www.cbt400.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
