Harbinger is using this migrate or die strategy with their Trusted Link/$00 product. Again, a fancy GUI (actually a screen scraped GUI) with very little new functionality. Customers need a new license and a migration. I wonder is Harbinger will learn anything from JDE? cjg Carl J. D. Edwards Article that I felt was pertinent We were one of those companies brought in and have always been World Software proponents. We were scared sh*tless when they "laid down the upgrade or die" law because for us, going to OneWorld will take quite a bit of time. Also, the new fancy functionality in OneWorld really doesn't apply to our businesses. In other words, (just as we told JDE) "We don't have a Business Need to do this so why do we HAVE to??". We will be dabbling in the coexistence mode soon and our plan has always been to stay with host-centric computing on the AS/400. They are just WAY TOO RELIABLE! I also have been attending their yearly users conference and this year was interesting. Bill Gates (yawn...) was one of the keynote speakers and Bonnie Raitt put on a great concert. The overwhelming # of seminars were on implementing/migrating to OneWorld and they were the most highly attended. > -----Original Message----- > From: Al Barsa, Jr. [SMTP:barsa2@ibm.net] > Sent: Wednesday, July 19, 2000 8:09 AM > To: midrange-L@midrange.com > Subject: J.
