Title: RE: 5250 to HTML Converter

Thanks Jon,

I've got the answer from Janet, and I'm on with a new contract: get a new face for our applications until we can migrate them off the AS400.  But we could still use the HTML interface for the AS400's objects.

And just to keep you informed of our projects, we have put the migration project on hold.  I'm now looking forward to setup an intranet to eventually get the AS400 connected to the web.  So if anybody has some information to gather about the setup process feel free to write to me!!

BTW I'm using the "e-business 101" pages from IBM's website.  I'm not a netwrok administrator, I just got out of school and still making my way through the as400 madness.  So If you got any recommendations about a good tutorial on the AS400 web serving capabilities, including Websphere(which I'm trying to figure out what it does or how should I use it), servlets, JSPs, or any tool related to the web, JUST LET ME KNOW!!!

Thanks to you all and especially Jon and Janet !

Title: 5250 to HTML Converter

 >> Could you be more specific on the meaning of "WebFacing"?

It is not really going to help you Pascal.  If I recall correctly, you are
looking to move your executables off the AS/400 and on to other platforms.
Webfacing is about putting an HTML "face" on an existing RPG application
instead of the 5250 - and without re-compiling.  It is effectively a form
of "screen scraping".  I am on vacation right now and suffering very slow
connection so I can't check out the IBM site for you - but I know the stuff
is there because someone (Booth Martin I think) complained of how hard IBM
had made it to upload the DDS analysis tool to the AS/400.
