I'm also curious about how many of those people actually post anything to
the list.  Do you keep anything like a date-of-last-message-posted from
which you could generate information about the number of people who posted
at least one message in the 7 or 30 days?  As opposed to the number of
messages posted in the last 7 or 30 days which would not give any clue as to
how many different people actually produced those messages.
