Can anyone tell me how to increase the response time of a network
printer (be it an IBM 4317 or an HP 4050) so that it does not take so
long to process a job? It seems that if you can keep the printer
constantly printing, after the first job it prints instantly on the
remaining ones but if you print and then wait a while it has that same
delay. Does the printer have to wake up? If so, is this in anyway tied to
the release timer setting in the psfcfg? We currently have that set at
*sec15...Are there any drawbacks in increasing this figure? Thanks.
